How we compare app link tools

Last updated

Every number in our comparison tables comes from the company’s own pricing or product pages, read on a stated day, or from the research we cite. Each fact carries that date and one of three labels: verified, vendor claim or unverified. Where we found nothing, the table says “Not compared here”. Spotted something out of date? Write to hello@jumper.to.

Where each fact comes from

One row per product: its website, the days we read it, and how many of its facts are verified, vendor claims or unverified.

Sources and dates

Jumper.to’s row describes our own product as built, from our docs and pricing pages.

Product names identify the compared services only. Jumper.to is not affiliated with any of them.

The three labels

Every fact has exactly one label, taken from our research notes.

  • Verified: we read it on the company’s own page on the date shown.
  • Vendor claim: the company says it about itself and we could not check it, for example a test it ran or a number of customers.
  • Unverified: only someone else reported it, such as another tool’s comparison page, or we could not open a page that confirms it.

How we work out the yearly cost

The cost tables show 1, 3, 10 and 50 links for one year.

  • We take the cheapest published plan that covers that many links.
  • When a company shows a yearly price, we use it; when it shows only a monthly price, we multiply by 12 and say so.
  • Products priced by clicks, installs or app users get “Not compared here”: a price per number of links would be a guess.
  • Jumper.to’s numbers come from our pricing constants at the normal price, not the launch offer.
  • Prices stay in the company’s currency, with VAT where the company includes it.

What we leave out

No logos, no star ratings, no testimonials and no customer counts of our own. A fact we cannot date does not go in. A feature we have not checked is “Not compared here”, never “No”.

Every comparison names what the other product does better before it says when Jumper.to is the better choice. Pages that only praise their author are not worth reading.

Spotted something out of date?

Write to hello@jumper.to with the page and a link to the source. We re-check, then change the fact and its date together, usually within a few days.

How we check a fact

  1. Open the company’s own page. The pricing page, the plan page in its help centre or its feature list. If the page needs JavaScript, we render it in a browser.
  2. Read the number or the feature. We copy what the page says, in its own currency and with its own limits, and the plan it belongs to.
  3. Record the date and the label. Verified, vendor claim or unverified, with the source and the day it was read.
  4. Re-check before a page changes. A fact and its date change together. An old date tells you how fresh the fact is.

Questions

Who checks the facts?

We do, by reading each company’s own pricing and product pages. When a page needs JavaScript we render it in a browser first. Each fact keeps the day it was read.

Why is a price labelled unverified?

Because we could not read it on the company’s own site and only found it on someone else’s page. We show it with that label instead of hiding it, and we leave it out of the home page.

Do you convert currencies?

No. A price in euros stays in euros, with VAT as the company shows it. Converting would add an exchange rate we would have to date as well.

Why is Jumper.to’s launch offer not in the tables?

The tables use Jumper.to’s normal prices, so the comparison holds after the offer ends. The pricing page shows both.

Can a company ask for a change?

Yes. Send the page and a link to the source to hello@jumper.to. We re-check it and change the fact and its date together. We do not take payment for placement.
