A privacy policy link for your app, free

Last updated

The App Store and Google Play both ask for a privacy policy URL. With Jumper.to you write or paste your policy as plain text, and it lives at oxi.cc/<your link>/privacy-policy. Terms and support pages work the same way. It comes free with every link.

How to get the link

  1. Create your app’s link. Paste your App Store or Google Play link at app.oxi.cc/new, or start from scratch if the app is not published yet.
  2. Open Pages and choose Privacy policy. Write the text or paste it from a document. Use headings, lists and tables to make it easy to read.
  3. Save and copy the address. It is oxi.cc/<your link>/privacy-policy. It works at once and stays the same when you edit the text.
  4. Paste it into App Store Connect. Open your app, then App Information (or App Privacy), and paste the address into Privacy Policy URL.
  5. Paste it into Google Play Console. Open your app, then Policy and programs, App content, Privacy policy, and paste the same address.

Why the stores ask for it

Apple and Google want every person who installs an app to be able to read how it treats their data. So both stores refuse to publish an app without a working privacy policy address, and they check it again on later reviews. A page that goes missing can hold up an update.

Many app makers do not have a website, or do not want to build one only for a policy. A Jumper page solves that: it is a real, fast web page with a short address that belongs with your app’s link.

What the page looks like

A clean page with your app’s name and icon at the top and your text below, readable on phones and computers. No ads, no cookie banner, nothing from other websites.

You write pages in Markdown: headings, bold and italic text, lists, quotes, tables, horizontal rules, code and links. HTML and scripts never run, and every page is checked automatically after each save.

Pages you can host under one link

Every page lives under your link on oxi.cc.

Custom pages get any address you choose under your link.

Who writes the text

You do. Only you know what your app collects, which services it uses and how long it keeps data. Jumper offers a short set of questions that produces a first draft from your answers, which you then read and change. It is a starting point, not legal advice, and it is not a template that fits every app.

If your app uses analytics, ads, crash reporting or sign-in services, name them in the policy. The stores compare your policy with the data safety and privacy answers you give them.

Search engines

Each page is hidden from search engines unless you turn indexing on for it. Turn it on if you want people to find your support page in search; leave it off for a policy that only the stores need to see.

Questions

Do I need a privacy policy link for my app?

Yes. Both the App Store and Google Play ask for a privacy policy URL before your app can be published, even when the app collects no data.

Is the privacy policy page free?

Yes. Pages come with every link, including the 3 free links. There is no extra charge per page.

Do you write the privacy policy for me?

No. You write or paste the text, so it says what your app really does. Jumper hosts it. A short set of questions helps with a first draft, but it is not legal advice.

Can I host files or scripts?

No. A page is text written in Markdown: headings, lists, tables, emphasis and links. HTML and scripts never run on it, which keeps it fast, readable and safe for everyone who opens it.

Will search engines show my privacy policy?

Not unless you want them to. Pages are hidden from search engines by default; you can turn indexing on for each page.

Can I change the text after the app is published?

Yes. Edit it any time. The address stays the same, so App Store Connect and Google Play Console keep pointing at the current version.

What else can I host?

Terms of use, a support page and app-ads.txt, each at its own address under your link, plus custom pages.
