# For indie developers: one link, and know what works

Last updated 1 November 2026

You build, launch and market the app yourself, so every hour and every dollar counts. Jumper.to gives your app one short link and QR code for both stores, a landing page, privacy policy and support pages, and one link per channel so you see whether Reddit, TikTok or your newsletter brings installs. Three credits are free and renew every year.

## A launch kit in ten minutes

1. **Make the main link.** Paste your store link at app.jumper.to/new. Website, bio and README get this one.
2. **Add the pages the stores ask for.** A privacy policy and a support page, written as plain text.
3. **Add one link per launch channel.** Product Hunt, Reddit, your newsletter, TikTok.
4. **Check the numbers after launch day.** Taps per link in Jumper, installs per campaign in the store consoles.

## Know which launch post worked

On launch day you post in five places. A week later you want to know which one was worth it. Give each place its own install link. They all open the same app, but App Store Connect counts downloads per campaign and Google Play hands your analytics the channel. Jumper shows taps and daily unique visitors per link, by country and phone, the same day. Next launch, you spend your time where it worked.

## Where each launch link goes

A typical indie launch, one link per place. All of them open the same app; each one tells the stores where the visitor came from.

### Launch links for one app

Make them on your app’s page in the dashboard; each is a short random address.

| Where you post | Link | What you learn |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Product Hunt | Its own install link | Taps on launch day, then installs per campaign in App Store Connect |
| Reddit post | Its own install link | Whether the thread sent people, not just upvotes |
| TikTok and Instagram bios | One link each | Which bio brings installs, inside their in-app browsers too |
| Newsletter | Its own install link | Taps per issue and installs per campaign |
| Stickers and posters | The QR code of a link | How many people scanned, by country and phone |

Jumper counts taps; the stores count installs. Small campaigns can show no installs in App Store Connect for privacy reasons.

## A README badge that counts

Open-source apps and side projects live on GitHub. Link the official store badges through your Jumper link: add ?\_jb=ios to it behind the App Store badge and ?\_jb=android behind the Google Play badge. Each badge then always opens its own store, with your campaign tags, and Jumper counts each badge’s taps.

The same works on your website, a press kit or a newsletter: anywhere you show both badges side by side, you see which one people pick.

## Your numbers in your own dashboard

Like to keep your own dashboard or a weekly email to yourself? Create a read-only key in your settings and let your spreadsheet or reporting tool fetch taps and daily unique visitors per link, channel or campaign. The key can read numbers and nothing else.

## The pages Apple and Google ask for

Your first submission stalls on a privacy policy URL and, for Apple, a support URL. Write them in your Jumper dashboard as plain text and get addresses like oxi.cc/\<your link>/privacy-policy. Jumper does not write the policy for you; the questionnaire helps you cover the usual points. Each page uses one credit.

## Bio links and QR codes

Put the link in your Instagram and TikTok bios: it gets past their in-app browsers, which often break plain App Store links. Download the QR code as SVG for stickers and conference badges. Change the destination later and the printed code keeps working.

## What Jumper.to does not do

It does not open your app when it is already installed (that needs Universal Links and App Links on your own domain), it has no deferred deep links, and it does not follow people inside your app. It is a link and its numbers, not an attribution platform.

## Make your launch links

Paste your App Store or Google Play link. 3 free credits: each link or page uses one. Nothing to install in your app.

## Questions

### Is it really free for a small app?

3 free credits: each link or page uses one. Free credits renew every year, so one app with a link, a privacy policy and a support page costs nothing. More links are paid packs: $2 a credit a year, 10 credits for $10, 100 credits for $20.

### Do I need to add anything to my indie app?

No. Jumper.to works on the link only. Nothing ships inside your app, and there is no new release to make. Reading the Google Play referrer is optional and uses Google’s own library.

### Can I use it in my GitHub README?

Yes. Link the official store badges through your Jumper link with ?\_jb=ios and ?\_jb=android: each badge opens its own store, and Jumper counts the taps.

### Can I get my numbers as JSON?

Yes. The read-only stats API returns taps and daily uniques per app, link, channel or campaign, with a bearer token you create in your settings.

### Will the link open my app if it is already installed?

No. A Jumper link always goes to the store, which shows an “Open” button when the app is installed. Opening a screen in your app needs Universal Links and App Links on your own domain.
